高音質で圧巻
もともと20世紀シリーズの廉価盤を持っていたが曲数が少ないのと音が悪いのを我慢していた。本作はデジパックで写真も美麗なので購入したところ、なによりリマスターによる高音質で聴くことができるのが嬉しい。旧マスターではハイトーンの部分で歪んでいた音も改善しているし、歌だけでなく演奏もパート毎にクリアーになっている。2枚組みなので曲数にも満足できることから、彼らのベスト盤としてはいまのところ最も価値があるのではないだろうか。他のレーベルから4枚組みのボックスセットもリリースされてはいるが、往々にしてアウトテイクがそのアーティストの本質を濁してしまいかねない。私のようにTHE FOUR TOPSは知っていたがそれほど熱を入れて聴きこんではいない、という方には本作をお勧めします。

ホント、この当時のモータウンはたまらなく良いです。
明るい曲の中にもちょっと哀愁があったりして、せつなくなってしまいます。
何よりもノリノリな曲のベースがいい!ジェマーソン最高です。

結成50周年を迎えた向かえたFour Tops 。Four Tops といえばモータウン在籍の60年代。リマスターでの高音質化を期待し購入したのですが、それはもちろんのこと、未聴だった70年代から現在に至る楽曲のなんとすばらしいことよ。リーバイ・スタッブスの衰え知らぬダイナミックな歌唱、絶妙のコーラス。鳥肌の連続に至福の5時間。買って間違いなし。もちろん60年代の黄金期を知らぬ若きモッズ諸君も必聴です。

想いでのサンディエゴ！
想いでのサンディエゴ、‥これは勿論『サンフランシスコ』のギャグなのだが
‥フォートップスのこの曲を探しに探して、、つ、ついに見つけた。！！

ついに捜し求めたのだ。。　想えば３０数年前、池袋東口の‥駅前にほど近い間口の狭いレコード店で、寂しげな心を満たすために、ふっと手にした「ダイアナ」「テンプス」「ＪＷ＆オールスターズ」の２枚組みのライヴレコー。。その中の「フォートップス」のライヴの１曲なのだ。　これはＦトップスの中でも最高のライヴです。恐らく現在では現存する唯一のＦトップスのＣＤの中では、これしかない‥と、私は思います。　さあ皆さん至福の時を『フォートップス\x{ff5e}想いでのサンフランシスコ』です。

反省するほど素晴らしい、祝50周年！
オーティス・レディングやソロモン・バークは20年以上も前から飽きずに聴いてきたのに、この素晴らしいカルテットに出会えないでここまで来てしまいました。ポール・ロジャースが参加したライブということでこのCDを買う前に予習としてベスト盤を聴いたが最後、すっかり虜になってしまいました。待ちに待ったこのアルバム、1曲目から最終曲まで無駄なし損なし駄曲なし！とにかく曲がいいだけでなく演奏、歌唱のどれをとっても素晴らしい出来です。私にとってマイナーだったこのアンサンブルが、今はイチオシの必聴グループ。年齢なんて、本当に関係のないこの時代、まだまだがんばって欲しいですね。
