男気あふれるこだわりの選曲だなーと思いました。
まだまだ、夏は終わらない!!レゲエ・ファン以外でもかなり楽しめると思います。
ジャケもサイコーにカッコいいし!!

正統的かつポップなレゲエ・シンガーのお得な２イン１
TVCMでもおなじみ「恋するNo.1 The tide is high」をパラゴンズのリード・シンガーとして歌った人、というのが一番通りが良さそうなラヴァーズ・ロック／ダンスホール・スタイルのレゲエ・シンガーの元祖ジョン・ホルト。ソロでも甘さとほどよいソウルフルさを備えたヴォーカルで聞きやすい作品が多い。

これは『1000 volts of』の好評を受けてのTrojanレーベルからの続編的アルバム『2000 volts of』(#1〜#12、1975年)、『3000 volts of』(#13〜、1977年)の2in1である。
『2000』はストリングスやホーンをフィーチュアした少々大げさだが華麗なサウンドが印象的。#2(Stevie Wonder)、#3(Diana Ross)、#5(The Beatles)、#6(Dionne Warwick)、#7(Allen Toussaint)などのカヴァーが実に自然に決まっている。
『3000』はルーツ寄りのシンプルなアレンジだが、自作曲も親しみ易く、やはりとてもポップでメロディアスなラヴソング集。

悪く言えば軟派なのだが、歌の巧さで、繰り返しの鑑賞にも堪えうる内容だ。
